\nany work a man is doing,
\nIf you like him or you love him,
\ntell him now;
\nDon’t withhold your approbation
\ntill the parson makes oration
\nAnd he lies with snowy lilies on his brow;
\nNo matter how you shout it
\nhe won’t really care about it;
\nHe won’t know how many teardrops you have shed;
\nIf you think some praise is due him
\nnow’s the time to slip it to him,
\nFor he cannot read his tombstone when he’s dead.<\/p>\n
More than fame and more than money
\nis the comment kind and sunny
\nAnd the hearty, warm approval of a friend.
\nFor it gives to life a savor,
\nand it makes you stronger, braver,
\nAnd it gives you heart and spirit to the end;
\nIf he earns your praise – bestow it,
\nif you like him let him know it,
\nLet the words of true encouragement be said;
\nDo not wait till life is over
\nand he’s underneath the clover,
